Not true! If you have not read the books, you can not tell the truth! "Scar" - was the name of this guy's alive! He is not dead, because his mental health, and the third stood release! So think before you write any crap!
((know it's an OLD work)) only the games are considered canon, so we don't really know. One theory is that he was taken over by the monolith and appears as charon in shadow of chernobyl (charon is the only monolith using his signature weapon). Though lebedev stated a third emission would (likely) be fatal, so i can't really understand how he could be alive without leaving a trace. Though i REALY hope he is alive.
As for the death truck bit in clear sky; isn't that strelok you see? Seeing as he was with a death truck in the introduction, and clear sky was the prequel.
But either way, we know the only known survivors of clear sky are Grey/Novikov (seen as scientist in CoP) and Nimble (seen as a secondary character in SoC, and a special trader in CoP), and considering neither of them really took part in the attack, and could well be the only ones staying put in the clear sky base it's safe to asume that the emission was all-consuming, killing or taking controll of everyone in the perimeter. The same aplies for strelok. So realistically Scar's only chance to survive as anything but a monolithian (which likely means he was killed either during shadow of chernobyl, or durinc call of pripyat) is as a s.t.a.l.k.e.r. Wether he's under monolith controll or not us unsure though, seeing as the monolith apparently is loosing controll of the squads if they venture too far away for a prolonged period of time (seen in cop by the neutral monolith squad).
Therefore it is highly unlikely, if umpossible for him to remember who it is, if he is alive at all.
